what do you need to know

our programs

Important! All children participating in our instructional programs, like Spring and Fall after school Clinics  and/or Summer Camps MUST be members of the club. Children may be either Full Junior Members (waitlist available) or Weekday Daytime Members (always available).  Parents wishing to sign up a child for any clinic or camp should first sign up the child as a club member here. This is a one time process, good for the entire year. After you obtained membership, you can sign up your child for the desired program. You should scroll down to find the list of our programs for the 2024 season and the registration link.

Details about Junior Weekday Daytime Membership - always available

Junior Weekday Daytime Membership Signup starts on Jan 8th.

The Weekday Daytime Membership is really affordable, it allows children not only to participate in club offerings but also to book courts online or in person, enabling  them to play with their friends and/or family (Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 5pm ).

More membership details here.

4-6 years old – $20 per season

7-18 years old – $40 per season

For any other questions contact our Head Pro Brian Ahlberg.

Summer Camps

Cancellation and Rain policy

CAMP CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you need to cancel your camp registration, you have until 7 days prior to the first day of camp to notify Brian. You will receive a full refund, however, a $25 admin fee will be applied. If you cancel less than 7 days before camp begins, you will not be eligible for a refund. All cancellations must be made in writing by email.
We do not allow any makeup, refund or credit for any missed camp day where you decide not to participate for any reason.

CAMP RAIN POLICY:

The camps run rain or shine, we will bring the kids indoors for a fun day if the courts are unplayable for the session with tennis related activities, arts, crafts and games until pick up time.

Answer: “As of 2020 all summer camp participants must be members. Spring and Fall afternoon/Saturday morning programs accept non-members”

Answer : “Yes. We accept all levels of play. Our “Progressive Tennis” system and “Pathways Program” allow for everyone to take part, improve, have fun and feel comfortable right away.”

Answer: “We provide all the balls for our programs. We can supply racquets if needed, however, we do encourage that each player brings their own.”

Answer: “Our player to coach ratio is 6:1 (six players to one coach). However, due to our “Drop In” option, ratios may reach 8:1 (eight players to one coach).”

Answer: “Yes. We do our best to accommodate all requests.”

Answer : “Athletic shoes, clothing they can move in and a water bottle. For Summer Camps, each player is encouraged to bring a small snack. Players will not be allowed to play in sandals, flip flops or Crocs.”

Answer: “We accept cash, cheque and email money transfer (EMT). All cheques should be made payable to Brian Ahlberg.”

Answer: “Yes. We confirm every registration we receive. If you mailed or emailed your registration but have not received a confirmation, then we have not received your forms.”

Junior Program Answer: “During rain or if the courts are wet, programs are likely postponed or cancelled. “
Summer Camp Answer: “No. In the event of rain or wet courts, our Summer Camps head indoors to the Club House. While inside, we play lots of fun games, watch kid appropriate movies and entertain the players as best we can while we attempt to make the courts playable.”

Tennis courts use a special paint, when wet, this paint can become very slippery which can lead to injury. At Davisville, we put the safety of our players and staff above everything else.

Answer: “All of our communication is done via email.”

Answer: “Although our coaches are able to improve player performance of any level, our junior program is geared towards more of a recreational to early competitive stream. If you are looking for a provincial level program, please don’t hesitate to ask our advice.”

Our recreational junior programs at Davisville Tennis Club have something for every age group. Using systematic “Program Pathways”, it’s easy to see where to start your junior player off and see how they progress through the different stages of “Progressive Tennis” curriculum.
