The 2024 season has ramped up and we have now started a few of our ongoing programs. You can look at the entire summer schedule by clicking on the Calendar link in the website navigation bar.
Here is a brief update on everything that’s going on at the club in May:
This week (May 6-10) is dedicated to meeting new people and playing through our tag board booking system (except Saturday). Tag board play starts at 6:00 p.m. and you will get to play with new and old members. It is a great way to make new connections and find players for future hits.
Ladders : Both our Regular mixed and Daytime mixed singles ladders have started. We have about 150 members registered in both programs, with still more waiting to join in June. House League: We are about to announce the teams and choose captains, with the first matches starting Tuesday, May 14. More info here: https://davisvilletennisclub.com/house-league/
League Teams: Within the Intercounty Tennis Association (ICTA), we have 3 evening mixed teams: 2 at the A level playing on Thursdays and one B level team playing on Tuesdays. We also have a daytime 55+ mixed team playing Thursday mornings. As well, Wednesday mornings will see our Ladies B1 team play in the Toronto Ladies Tennis League (TLTL). All these teams are starting their matches in the second part of May, with the season ending mid August. Social Tennis: We have a few dates announced already, alternating between Fridays and Saturdays, but always ending at a bar nearby: Saturday, May 18 between 6:00-8:00 pm; Friday, June 14 from 7:00-9:00pm, and Saturday, June 29. Registration opens on the Monday of the week of the event.
Ratings and Re-ratings – We have already held 4 rating sessions for new members and more will be announced soon through the weekly newsletters. For re-ratings, please email Nina at pd@davisvilletennisclub.com and she will add you to the list. Once we have 4 people registered for a level, a re-rating session will be scheduled. Adult Clinics: Our Head Pro Brian has already started the first session of clinics and he will announce the new block at the beginning of June.
Junior Camps and Clinics: Junior clinics are in full swing already and the camps are all published online https://davisvilletennisclub.com/junior-programs/. These fill up quickly once summer starts, so don’t leave it too long.
Round Robins: These informal programs are announced on the calendar and on Court Reserve/Events. Our TopSpin e-newsletter will also keep you updated.
