With the summer season barely ended, DTC will host a roster of winter tennis, beginning this Saturday, Nov. 6. Registration opens through Court Reserve tonight (Tuesday, Nov. 2) at 7:30 p.m. COVID rules are still in place, so please read all here if you plan to join.
The first session running this Saturday, Nov. 6, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. will be at Mayfair West.
There will be room for 16 players.
Before the season begins, here’s what you need to know and the rules to be followed to be allowed to play.
First, the roster of dates for winter tennis is below. Please mark them on your calendar and note that, every week that we hold tennis, registration will open the Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. before every Saturday night event.
Tennis will be played at Mayfair West (3855 Chesswood Dr, North York, Ont.), from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We will offer doubles play on four courts, which means a maximum of 16 people. The cost will be $20 a person.
All registration will take place online through Court Reserve. You will pay by credit card when you sign up.
Cancellations will be allowed, with a full refund, until 24 hours before the event starts. If you cancel within the last 24 hours, unfortunately there will be no refund.
Only players who have proper proof of full vaccinationwith themwill be allowed to participate. Players will also be required to show proof of their identity (a driver’s licence) along with their evidence of vaccation before they can enter the club.
Please show up 15 minutes in advance to allow Mayfair to verify vaccination status, check in with the DTC member running the event, and warm up.
Once admitted, players will have to wear masks at all times, except when working out or playing tennis. Players will be allowed to use the change rooms and gyms.
Participants will have to have their own water bottles with them, which can be refilled at water stations in the hallway.
The restaurant will be closed so no food or drinks can be purchased.
After 9:30 p.m., players will be allowed to continue to play tennis or use the change rooms and showers, but only until the club closes at 9:50 p.m.
