Club Information: Opening Day, Saturday April 23rd

We hope that everyone will come out to kick off our 2022 season!
 
We plan to start the day with breakfast goodies, Get your racquet strings in shape for fun round robin play between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on all of our courts. Just come on out and sign on!
 
After that, Davisville’s venerable tagboard will make a return for play between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The board will be opened at 1:45 for those who wish to tag up for play.
 
We will also open online reservations for play between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. and again from 4 p.m. onward. Please book through Court Reserve.
 
Come hungry! We will hold our first barbecue of the season between noon and 2 p.m.
 
Our head pro, Brian Ahlberg ,will be around, and for newcomers or anyone else with questions, our club president, Stuart Teather, will hold orientation sessions at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
 
For those who don’t know, having your level rated is one of the rules at Davisville.
If you are new to the club or otherwise have not been rated, we will
hold sessions over the season. The earlier you get rated, the better for
you.
 
Brian will hold the season’s first ratings sessions on Opening Day, at 2 p.m. and again at 2:30 p.m. Keep an eye on Court Reserve; sign-up for these sessions will be opened before April 23. (more info below)
 
Opening Day will also be the time to sign up in person for House League and Social Tennis. Any remaining spots after will be made available for online registration through Court Reserve starting the day following Opening Day (Sunday, April 24).’ (more info below)
 
We will also have representatives of equipment maker Yonex on hand to discuss, show and let you try out their wares.
 
And by the way, please pick up your shoe tags while you are at the club on Opening Day.
 
Rest assured: For the whole event, we will be keeping COVID safety in mind. Hand sanitizer will be available, on court. Staff will be masked and members can mask or not at their own discretion. Please be respectful of people who make different decisions than you do.
 
We will give you a couple of hours break — but then Opening Day parties on! Starting at 7 p.m., join fellow DTC members at  The Bull: a Firkin PubIts games room has been reserved for our club.
